They say to shoot more of what you love. So that's what I spent this summer doing.
I took a good portion of this summer taking time off to enjoy some wonderful, squishy baby snuggles. Before I went on maternity leave, I was blessed to be able to do some of my favorite sessions to date. As I'm easing back into work again, I'm so excited to finally get these images up on my blog.
One very warm June evening, I met up with this lovely mamma and her two little girls for a special Mommy and Me session. As a mommy, I know that sometimes it's super hard to get pictures of you with your littles. In the middle of the chaos of life, you're usually the one taking the pictures more than you're the one actually in them. Mommy and Me sessions give mommas that special time to dress up, have a fun outing with their favorite tiny people and have some precious images of themselves with their kids. This session had all the things that I love so much.
After discussing the vision for this session, it was settled upon for a Beatrix Potter meets summer evening in the country. There was linen, there were curls and bows, it was perfection on paper. Thankfully it was perfection in reality too. We headed up to the Fells Estate in Newbury, New Hampshire for a wonderful evening of wandering around the picturesque estate with these two sweet little girls. Right off, we found this beautiful little fish pond straight out of the Wind in the Willows. The girls loved looking into the water and seeing their reflections.
There's nothing quite as precious as watching children explore and appreciate the beauty around them. These two girls loved every minute of their time playing in the garden. It was such a privilege to capture their excitement and the pure joy of being able to run around in an exceptionally inspiring setting. You could see the unmatched joy as they admired the flowers and played in the shady little hideaways.
Before we knew it the sun was setting and it was time to wrap up. We closed out our evening with a some twirling in the drive up to the house. Which when you're wearing the perfect dress for a summer twirl is absolutely a necessity and it was the perfect way to end our time together.
